Worcester News Article – 9th January
Happy New Year from the team at Healthwatch Worcestershire. We started the New Year with a visit to Worcester University to talk to a group of post graduate students studying health and social care. This was too good an opportunity to miss out on as rarely do we get the chance to speak to people of working age about their views on health and social care, and, as we are always on the look -out for good ideas, pick their brains as to how Healthwatch can gather the experiences of patients, service users and carers who are seldom heard. After a presentation on Healthwatch and expressing their views about GPs by participating in our GP survey the students completed a group task in which they gave us their advice on how best to engage with people of working age and the homeless in an innovative way.
During our public meeting on Friday 13th January we will be discussing the plans for the long awaited Future of Acute Hospital Services consultation which started this month. There will be an opportunity for local people to question professionals involved in this redesign process and find out more about the proposed changes. To get involved please come along from 10.30-12.30 on 13th January to The Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Pershore, WR10 1PT. An agenda and further details can be found on our website www.healthwatchworcestershire.co.uk
As always we want to hear your experiences of using local health and care services and where appropriate we will signpost you to information and advice.
