Our Directors decided in consultation with the Reference & Engagement Group to co-opt up to six members from the Company Membership Scheme to sit on the Board with them at Public Board Meetings.
The role of the Co-opted Member is to bring the voice of a particular patients, service user, carer or public group to the Board meeting, and to contribute to and exercise oversight of the Directors decision making.
In summary the role involves:
- Providing information to Healthwatch Worcestershire including patient, service users and carers’ experiences of health and social care services commissioned and provided for the public of Worcestershire.
- Providing advice to Healthwatch Worcestershire on its operational business activities.
- Providing assurance to Healthwatch Worcestershire on its operational business activities.
- Attending Healthwatch Worcestershire’s public Board meetings which are held monthly on a Wednesday morning.
Only members of Healthwatch Worcestershire’s Company Membership Scheme can apply to be co-opted to sit on Healthwatch Worcestershire’s Board.
