Worcester News Article – 9th September
Healthwatch Worcestershire invites you to attend our next Public Board Meeting on Wednesday 11th September at The Civic Centre in Pershore. It will be an opportunity for you to hear about the work Healthwatch is doing, meet the Directors and the new Co-opted Board Members. Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Deputy Chief Medical Officer Graham James will be presenting on the Development of a Clinical Services Strategy for the Trust. We will be providing updates on a number of our projects, including, NHS Long Term Plan Engagement, Care in the Corridor – Follow up Visits Report and Safeguarding Homeless People with Care and Support Needs.
Over the last couple of weeks, we have been out and about across the county talking to you about your experiences of local health and social care services. We have been doing a survey with adults about Screening and Immunisation and Young People have been telling us about what ‘Being Healthy’ means to them. Thank you to Bromsgrove District Housing Trust and to the organisers of The Big Picnic in Kidderminster we had a great day!
Our Chairman Peter Pinfield attended the NHS EXPO in Manchester last week. EXPO is the biggest NHS-led event of the year which focusses on inspiring leaders and clinicians to make improvements for patients and service users. It enables people from across health and social care share perspectives, learn from one another, and find solutions. Peter said “An interesting and informative couple of days. In today’s climate it posed more questions than answers, but you cannot not be impressed by those leaders in the NHS who clearly want to move forward and deliver an NHS system fit for purpose. Both Simon Stevens and Andy Burnham spoke with passion to improve the quality of health and wellbeing for all”.
