Worcester News Article – 7th October
Last week we attended the Healthwatch England Annual Conference in Birmingham. We asked questions relating to transparency of decision making and raised the importance of carers when we spoke to Simon Stevens, Chief Executive of the NHS and Paul Burstow, Former Minister of State in the Department of Health.
Last Friday we attended the AGM and Carer Conference of Worcestershire Association of Carers (WAC). This well attended event was based around the theme of ‘Caring Communities – Caring Worcestershire’ and celebrated the impact WAC has on people’s lives. We would like to thank WAC for our invitation to this successful event.
We welcome the publication of the latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) report on Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The overall rating of the Trust has moved from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Requires Improvement’ and Healthwatch is looking forward to the continuing improvement of the Trust for the benefit of the people of Worcestershire.
On Wednesday 16th October we are holding a focus group to gather the experiences of the LGBT+ community in accessing health and cares services in Worcestershire. This event will run from 7pm-9pm at The Hive in Worcester. If you would like to attend, please contact us on the details below.
