Worcester News Article – 4th September
Healthwatch Worcestershire is currently involved with a co-production piece of work with the Worcestershire Health & Care Trust around the re-design of Older Mental Health Services in the County. There have been a number of consultation events across the county over the last few months and we await the final recommendation report which is due in September. There will then be a further period of consultation which we will be fully involved with, with the re-design due to be put into place in 2018. We will keep readers up to date with progress.
Through our involvement on the Dementia Care Planning Group we are part of a Dementia Needs Assessment process which is being done for the Worcestershire Public Health Team. The government’s Well Pathway for Dementia is the framework for discussion which has four strands: Diagnosing Well, Supporting Well, Living Well and Dying Well.
We are working with Doctor Mike Allum to look at current services, what needs aren’t being met, what are the benefits and challenges of the current services and what future improvements and developments may be required.
Healthwatch Worcestershire will be holding it’s next Public Board Meeting on Friday 8th September 2017 at Sacred Heart Church Parish Hall, Worcester Road, Droitwich WR9 8AZ. We move the Public Meetings around the County and our next meeting will be held in Redditch on 1st December 2017. The meeting is a great opportunity for members of the community to hear about our work and ask questions during the public participation session. We will be able to update attendees on our Business Priorities at the meeting.
We continue to monitor progress of Acute Hospital Services within Worcestershire and again will be willing to discuss the ongoing changes at the Public Board Meeting.
