Worcester News Article – 26th June
Healthwatch cannot do its job without finding out about your experiences of health and social care. So last Friday we attended the first of six Fortis Family Days, which they are organising at schools across Worcester, Malvern and Droitwich. It was a great opportunity to speak to children and families and find out about the issues that matter to them. We look forward to the rest of the Family Days and the other events we will be attending over the summer which are detailed on our website
Healthwatch Worcestershire have commented on the CQC Report following inspection of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trusts in November/December 2016 which was published last week. Key messages were
Patients and Public need to see improvements and at pace since last year’s inspection .However the Trust was re-inspected in April 2017 & we await the report on that inspection which is expected to be published in July 2017. Healthwatch wants to hear of patients experiences throughout the improvement process and will be monitoring progress. We have been pressing for a permanent leadership team for the Acute Trust since 2015 and therefore welcome the recent appointments.
And finally, a last reminder that on Thursday 29th June we will be holding our Annual Conference at Sixways Stadium in Worcester. This is an opportunity for local people to hear about our work and hold local providers and commissioners to account. We will be presenting our 2016-17 Annual Report and discussing our achievements over the last year. A panel of local health leaders, including the new Chief Executive of the Acute Trust will be joining us to answer questions from those attending. So, to come along and have your say please contact us on 01386 550 264 or email us at email@example.com to book a place!
