Worcester News Article – 24th January
We will be holding our first Public Board Meeting of 2022 on Thursday 27th January. We will be joined by Matthew Hopkins the Chief Executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust to talk about their plans for service development and reconfiguration, including the location of services across their three sites – the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Treatment Centre.
We will also be discussing the findings from our survey and engagement looking at digital access to health services, including how people find accessing and using the internet and online services and having health appointments by phone and video call. There will as always be an opportunity for Public Participation and an update on other current areas of work. Please visit our website for more information about how to join the meeting online via Zoom at 10am on Thursday.
A key focus of our engagement this month is young people’s health and emotional wellbeing. We are running a survey for 13 to 19 year olds to find out about their experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, their thoughts about vaccinations, health and wellbeing information and support they have accessed for emotional welling being during the pandemic. We are keen to hear from as many young people as possible, so please visit our website to complete the survey or contact us if we can send you any further information about how to get involved, including paper copies of the survey with pre-paid reply envelopes.
The campaign to deliver Covid-19 booster vaccinations in Herefordshire and Worcestershire has been continuing, with data showing that we were the second best performing system on the country for delivering boosters. New sessions have now been introduced, including Quiet Hour for people with autism, sensory processing difficulties, learning disabilities or needle phobias. Women only sessions are also being offered on a drop-in basis. Information about availability of vaccination sessions, including times and dates for Quiet Hour and women only sessions can be found on the SW Healthcare website – www.swhealthcare.org.uk
