Worcester News Article – 22nd February
Our role at Healthwatch is to ensure that patients, service users, carers and members of the public are able to give feedback and influence the way in which local health and social care services are run. Covid-19 has changed how we live our life and how services operate in lots of ways, so it is so vital that we are hearing from you about your experiences and that we use this feedback to help improve care for all.
We are currently gathering experiences of being discharged from hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic. Have you or someone you care for been discharged from hospital in Worcestershire since March 2020? If so, we want to hear from you. To make room for the sudden need for more beds, the NHS changed the way it discharged people from hospital. But what was your experience?
If you, or someone you care for, was discharged from hospital at any time since March 2020 then please complete a Healthwatch Worcestershire Survey and share your experience. There is a separate survey for patients and carers (unpaid and paid). You can visit www.healthwatchworcestershire.co.uk/hospital-discharge/ to complete the Survey online or telephone 01386 550264 leaving your name and address for a paper copy of the Survey with a Freepost envelope for return by 26th March 2021. Please state if you would like the patient or carer survey, or both.
This month we would also particularly like to hear about experiences of using NHS 111. NHS 111 provides access to urgent medical treatment and advice, by phone and online. As well as helping to identify which local service may be able to help, they can connect you to speak to a nurse, emergency dentist, pharmacist or GP and book you a face-to-face appointment if you need it, including an arrival time at A&E. We are keen to know how this is currently working locally, so if you have recently contacted NHS 111 please let us know how it went.
You can share your feedback about NHS 111, or any local health or social care service, anonymously via our website www.healthwatchworcestershire.co.uk on the Tell Us page. You can also contact us in confidence by email – email@example.com or phone – 01386 550264.
