Worcester News Article – 16th November
We have launched a survey to gather your feedback about accessing Dental services in Worcestershire during the Covid-19 pandemic. Many respondents to our Covid-19 survey told us that they had experienced difficulties accessing dental services and finding information about emergency dental care. Since the survey finished we have heard from people who are still finding it difficult to access routine dentistry and register with an NHS Dentist. Please help us provide feedback to the NHS by visiting our website and completing the survey.
Last week we participated in the first meeting of Worcestershire’s Health Inequalities Prevention Collaborative, set up to tackle the current health inequalities within the county. The group of healthcare leaders will initially focus on ensuring those at greatest risk from COVID-19 are protected and supported in the way that is needed. As health services are restored they will ensure there is a focus on inequalities and making services accessible to those in greatest need.
We also attended a meeting about Evesham Community Hospital. This was part of ongoing public engagement about future plans for Community Hospitals in Worcestershire. Reassurance was given about commitment to the future of the hospital and expanding services on the site, reinstating services which were stopped due to Covid-19 and a new system enabling people to book appointments at the Minor Injuries Unit via NHS 111.
We have two online public events coming up, which we encourage people to take part in. Our Public Board Meeting on 25th November and then on 14th December we will be hosting NHS Question Time – Ask the Leaders. We will have a panel comprising Chief Executives from Herefordshire and Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, Worcestershire Acute Hospital NHS Trust and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust and the Chair of the Local Medical Committee answering questions. We will be looking especially at the impact of Covid-19 on local services and how these are operating differently as a result. Please get in touch if you would like to take part and ask a question.
