Worcester News Article – 13th January
A Happy New Year to everyone from Healthwatch! This year will be another year of challenges for our health and care services, as NHS England works to implement the national Long Term Plan. This includes the intention that all patients will be covered by a primary care network, comprising groups of neighbouring GP practices and increased funding to develop services available to patients in their local community.
As the NHS in Worcestershire works to implement the plan and this new way of working, they need to consider how to make best use of resources such as our seven Community Hospitals. Worcestershire Health and Care Trust are organising two community events to hold conversations to gather views and ideas from patients and the public about the transformation of the community hospitals. The events will be –
– 16th January 2pm until 4pm at St Peter’s Baptist Church in Worcester (WR5 3TZ)
– 31st January 10am until 12noon at Simply Limitless, Kidderminster (DY11 5DF)
To book a place in advance please email email@example.com or call 01905 681495
We have now launched our survey to gather experiences of young people (aged 16 to 19) in Worcestershire who identify as LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender). We will also be visiting local youth groups and colleges over the next few weeks to gather feedback. The survey, along with our wider LGBT+ Survey can be completed online via our website – www.healthwatchworcestershire.co.uk/lgbt-surveys or do get in touch for paper copies and more information about how to get involved.
We will be holding our first Public Board Meeting of 2020 this Wednesday 15th March at 10am at Windmill Community Centre in Redditch. We will be hearing from Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust in response to their recent CQC inspection report. We will also be discussing feedback from our recent engagement with prisoners at HMP Hewell. Please come and join us to hear about our latest work and take part in the public participation. More information, including a full agenda is available on our website – www.healthwatchworcestershire.co.uk
