Worcester News Article – 13th August
The last couple of weeks have been busy at Healthwatch Worcestershire. I was down in London for a Care Quality Commission event which was stressing the importance of involving patients and carers when designing new services and making changes to existing ones. This is called Co-production. The focus was on the integration of health and social care services as the demands of our aging population mean more and more people are accessing these services regularly and need a more joined up experience.
One of our key functions is to enable people to monitor the quality of services that are being delivered to them. Therefore, following feedback from patients and carers we have written to the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) asking for assurance on the quality and safety of local Stroke Services. Concern was raised during the last Healthwatch public meeting and the response received from the CCG will be discussed at our next meeting on Friday 14th September at Evesham Town Hall. If you have an experience of local Stroke Services you would like to share with us please get in touch using the contact details below.
Once again, we have been enjoying talking to people about their experiences of local health and social care services at the many events we have attended. Fortis Family Days, Bromsgrove District Housing Community Day and the Worcester Show are just a few of these. Thank you to everyone who came and spoke to us and shared their experiences.
Don’t forget to like and share our Facebook page with your friends, to find out more about what we are up to, how you can get involved and enter the prize draws. Listen out for us on the local Youthcomm Radio 106.7fm, there will be regular adverts, interviews about different aspects of our work and Youthcomm will be providing some great prize draw prizes!
