Worcester News Article – 10th August
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic we have been seeking your experiences of accessing local health and care services. As more services are now resuming and implementing changes to the way they operate, it is still so important that we have your views about how it is working for you, so we can give feedback and raise issues with those who run the services. We particularly want to hear about your experiences of accessing your GP practice.
Responses to our Covid-19 survey showed that many people thought that the introduction of telephone and video call appointments with their Doctors had been really positive. However, we have also heard from those who this doesn’t work so well for and received mixed feedback about how well updates and changes have been communicated to patients and arrangements for attending appointments at the surgery.
As GP practices start to resume more routine appointments, such as check-ups for those with long term conditions, we want you to get in touch to share your experiences. We want to hear about – your experiences of accessing appointments, both remotely and in person, how well changes and information about how to access your GP has been communicated, how more routine treatments and checks ups are working and any other issues or concerns you have about GP services and how they are being delivered.
We continue to raise issues and concerns on behalf of patients, service users and carers at meetings such at the Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, where we were seeking further information about the restoration of local services. In particular we raised concerns about those who are currently waiting for treatment that has been delayed as a result of Covid-19. We also took part in the Adult Care and Wellbeing Overview and Scrutiny Panel meeting, which focussed on plans to develop and co-produce services for adults with a learning disability and Autism in Worcestershire, following the outcome of a Peer Review showing that there is a need for a greater strategic leadership and clarity of the direction and vision for the future for these services.
You can share your feedback about GP practices and any other local health and care service anonymously via our website or contact the team by email email@example.com or phone 01386 550264.
