Councils have a legal duty to provide information and advice about care and support services in their local area, what is available, how these services work locally and how people can access them.
Worcestershire has five Minor Injuries Units (MIUs) located in Bromsgrove, Evesham, Kidderminster, Malvern and Tenbury. They are part of the NHS urgent care and out of hours service offer.
202 young people completed our Health and Emotional Wellbeing Survey from December 2021 to February 2022. We have made 26 recommendations for Worcestershire’s health and social care services based on our findings.
712 people completed our Digital Access to Healthcare Survey from August to November 2021. We wanted to understand more about people’s experiences of accessing health services and information online and having appointments remotely via telephone and video call.
We wanted to understand how hospital discharge in Worcestershire is working from a patient and carer’s perspective, as well as broadening our understanding of the process through talking with some care providers and NHS and social care staff involved.
During Covid-19 Worcestershire County Council’s Public Health team identified the need to provide information about Covid-19 and access to support to younger people in particular.
