Worcester News Article – 16th March
For several months now Healthwatch Worcestershire have been gathering feedback from people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and their carers about their experiences of accessing healthcare services, information, support and diagnosis. We have also been looking at the current levels of awareness and understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions within health services in Worcestershire and ways in which services are currently supporting and adjusting for those on the Autism Spectrum.
The final report was well received at our Public Board Meeting last week and provides several recommendations for Health Sector partners to consider. The report will shortly be available on our website.
In April we are starting a new piece of work gathering information from patients and their carers who have experienced Mental Health Home Treatment Services. The Health and Care Trust will be sending out information and surveys on behalf of Healthwatch Worcestershire in mid-April, so please get in touch if you receive our letter.
The Chairs of Healthwatch Worcestershire and Healthwatch Herefordshire recently provided a joint submission to the Parliamentary Health Select Inquiry into the progress of the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership. The letter identified further opportunities for partners to work together and in the spirit of this, the two organisations decided to work closer together for the benefit of patients across both counties.
Our next Board meeting is on the morning of Friday 13th April in the Civic Centre at Pershore. I always encourage the public’s participation in our meetings so if you have a health and social care issue you want to talk about please come along.
If you require any further information on our work or have an experience of health or social care to share with us in confidence, please contact us on 01386 550 264 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
